The Insight Tag has to be site-wide before anything else
The most common failure we audit is an Insight Tag installed only on a landing page. LinkedIn builds website audiences from page-level rules, so a partial install means every segment you define is silently incomplete and delivery stays throttled.
Install it in the head of every template, verify in Campaign Manager that the domain reports as verified, and wait for the audience counter to move before you launch anything.
Matched Audiences that actually deliver
LinkedIn needs roughly 300 members before a website audience serves. Build broader rules first, then split once volume supports it. Contact-list and company-list uploads should be refreshed monthly — stale lists quietly shrink and your CPL rises without any campaign change.
Layer frequency caps. B2B buying committees are small, and the same five people seeing your ad twenty times a week produces complaints, not pipeline.
Reporting that ties back to CRM
Pass a lead-source parameter through the form fill and reconcile in your CRM weekly. LinkedIn's in-platform conversion numbers are directional; your CRM is the number that pays salaries.
